From a Certain Point of View est un recueil de nouvelles célébrant le quarantième anniversaire de la sortie de Star Wars épisode IV : Un Nouvel Espoir au cinéma. Il fut publié le 3 octobre 2017 chez Del Rey aux États-Unis. Il fut adapté en livre audio aux États-Unis. Chaque histoire est racontée du point de vue d'un personnage secondaire de Star Wars épisode IV : Un Nouvel Espoir.[1]

En l'honneur du quarantième anniversaire de Star Wars : Un Nouvel Espoir, cette collection comprend des histoires Star Wars écrites par des auteurs à succès, des artistes avant-gardistes, et de précieux porte-paroles de l'histoire littéraire de Star Wars. Plus de quarante auteurs ont apporté leur vision à quarante "scènes", chacun racontant un moment différent du film Star Wars original, mais avec quelque chose en plus : Chaque scène est racontée du point de vue d'un personnage secondaire. Que ce soit les pilotes de X-wing qui ont aidé Luke à détruire l'Étoile de la Mort ou les Stormtroopers qui n'arrivèrent jamais à trouver les droïdes qu'ils recherchaient, Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View place le film classique dans une toute nouvelle perspective, et célèbre l'influence et l'héritage de ce phénomène culturel incomparable qu'est Star Wars.

Développement[]

Operation Blue Milk Tease

La campagne de marketing autour de From a Certain Point of View commença le 6 avril 2017 sur les réseaux sociaux avec la création du hashtag #OperationBlueMilk. L'annonce officielle eut lieu le 7 avril et laissa savoir que cette anthologie proposerait 40 histoires écrites par 40 auteurs pour célébrer le 40ème anniversaire de Star Wars épisode IV : Un Nouvel Espoir (sorti en 1977 au cinéma). Le livre devrait être publié en octobre 2017.

Les histoires de ce recueil se concentre sur les personnages secondaires et tertiaires d'Un Nouvel Espoir allant ainsi des pilotes de X-Wing combattant aux côtés de Luke Skywalker au Stormtroopers chargé de retrouver C-3PO et R2-D2 sur Tatooine.

Continuité[]

Bien que From a Certain Point of View fasse partie de l'Univers officiel, il présente plusieurs contradictions. Par conséquent, Matt Martin du Story Group de Lucasfilm Ltd. a confirmé que les contradictions présentes dans les histoires étaient intentionnelles dans la mesure où le but du projet était de donner des points de vue différents.[56]
